Algerian army troops

Algerian army troops on Saturday killed three armed militants in the province of Boumerdes, 55 km east of Algiers, local media reported.
The state run television reported that the army troops have been besieging a terrorist group for three days in the locality of Sahel Boubrak, east of Boumerdes, and killed three of them on Saturday. The operation is still underway, the source added.
The government said a few militants affiliated to al-Qaida in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) still take refuge in the woods of central provinces of Boumerdes, Bouira and Tizi Ouzou.
