Police have closed all streets leading to the HQ of the Interior Ministry in downtown Cairo as part of a plan to secure celebrations marking the fifth anniversary of the January 25 Revolution.

Iron gates around the Interior Ministry HQ on Nubar Street, Sheikh Rihan Street and Mansour Street and in Lathogly Square have been closed, MENA correspondent said Monday.

Barriers have also been placed on streets leading to the Interior Ministry, he added.

Barriers could also be seen on Mourad Street in the directions to Nahda Square and Galaa Square, he said.
