An anti-aircraft rocket was seized in a security campaign in the city of Al Tor in the province of South Sinai.
The shell was seized following exchange of fire between security forces and criminal elements who fled the scene.
The public prosecution was notified to launch an investigation into the incident.
"We will continue our campaigns against criminal hotbeds and outlaws," said South Sinai police chief Hatem Amin.
