Al-Aqsa Mosque

The repeated Israeli violations against Al Aqsa Mosque over the past period are meant to divide the holy city to accelerate its Judaization and wipe out of its Islamic and Arab identity, warned Secretary General of the Islamic-Christian Committee to Support Occupied Jerusalem and Holy Sites Hanna Issa.

Speaking to MENA, he said Israeli authorities have been racing against time since Israeli Benjamin Netanyahu became a prime minister in 2009 to Judaize the holy city in every possible way.

There are four diggings under the mosque at the depth of eight meters each in addition to the entire city that is being established under the mosque to accommodate 5,000 persons by 2020, he warned.

There are 29 settlements, including 15 in East Jerusalem with population of 400,000 settlers.

Many Zionist organizations have allocated 17 billion dollars to carry out the Judaization scheme of the holy city, citing the continued settlement policy, identity reversal, house demolition, closure of Arab foundations and discrimination against Palestinian residents, he said.

He paid tribute to the Palestinian groups that have been staying in the holy mosque for months now to defend it against Zionist polices.
