Sanaa - Arab Today
Saudi-led Arab coalition forces are about to control Sanaa after they made an advancement towards Kholan city, about 60 kilometers east of the Yemeni capital, the BBC reported on Wednesday.
The coalition forces, backed by Yemeni troops and popular armed groups, have taken control of several strategic sites in Marib and al Jouf governorates after armed clashes with Houthi militants.
Some Houthi leaders were killed in the raids launched by the Arab coalition troops.
Yemen has been engulfed in conflicts between Houthis and the government forces since early 2015.
In late March, a Saudi-led coalition of Arab states began launching airstrikes against Houthi positions in Yemen at the request of Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi.
