Riyadh - Arab Today
The Arab foreign ministers will hold an emergency meeting chaired by their UAE counterpart Sheikh Abdallah Ben Zayed Al Nuhayyan on Monday to tackle the latest developments in the Palestinian territories in light of the stumbling peace process and the constant Israeli attacks on the Palestinian people.
Egypt's delegation to the emergency ministerial meeting, to be hosted by Riyadh on the sidelines of the Arab-South America summit, will be led by Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, who is accompanied by a high-level delegation.
Shoukry and the Egyptian delegation will take part in the summit's preparatory meetings.
The meeting will also discuss providing international protection to the Palestinian people in facing the Israeli aggression, Arab League Deputy Secretary General Ahmed Ben Heli said.
The meeting will cover ways to create a practical mechanism for implementing UN Security Council resolutions pertaining to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict particularly that the International Quartet is no longer productive, he added.
