Arab League Secretary General Nabil el Araby congratulated Sudanese President Omar al Bashir on his victory in the elections in a phone call Wednesday.

The AL chief congratulated the people of Sudan on successfully completing the presidential and parliamentary elections, the AL said in a statement on Wednesday.

The call came as the official results of the Sudanese elections were announced on Monday by the National Elections Commission, declaring Bashir the winner by 94.5 % of votes.
