Arab League Secretary General Nabil el Araby strongly condemned the terrorist attack that targeted Iraqi Sadr city on Thursday.

The attack left dozens of victims dead.

In a statement issued on Thursday, el Araby said that this heinous act aims at undermining the efforts exerted by the Iraqi government to fight terrorism.

He further underlined the importance of providing support for the Iraqi cabinet to help it uproot extremism.

The AL chief extended condolences to the families of the victims, hoping a speedy recovery for the injured.
