Arab League Secretary General Nabil el Araby mourned former Saudi foreign minister Prince Saud al Faisal who died earlier on Thursday.

In a statement, the AL chief expressed his deep sorrow over the demise of al Faisal, hailing the efforts made by the late Saudi prince in defending the Arab nation's causes and his courageous stances.

Araby offered condolences to Saudi King Salman bin Abdel Aziz, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdel Aziz and the Saudi people, the statement added.
