Arab League summit

The Arab League has condemned anti-Arab Peace Initiative statements by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

In statements, AL Assistant Secretary General for Palestine Affairs Mohamed Sobaih said the current Israeli leadership does not care about achieving peace in Middle East and pushes the entire region toward more destruction and instability.

Such racist statements serve the Israeli project in completing its Judaizing plan for the occupied Palestinian territory, including Al-Quds, Sobaih said.

The Arab countries adopted the Arab Peace Initiative as a strategic choice, depending, in essence, on the principles of international law and relevant international decisions to achieve a two-state solution, he added.

Few days ago, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that he welcomed the general idea behind the Arab Peace Initiative, though the proposal's details require tweaking.

"The framework is outdated and contains many issues that every Israeli would object to, such as an Israeli withdrawal from the Golan Heights and right of return for Palestinian refugees," Netanyahu said.
