The Arab League (AL) permanent delegates slammed on Wednesday the beheading of 21 Egyptian Copts in Libya this week by the terrorist Daesh group.
During their consultative meeting at the headquarters of the pan-Arab body today, the AL delegates called for more Arab coordination to face terrorism.
Algeria's Permanent Representative to the Arab League Nazir el Arbaoui called on the Libyan parties to close ranks and renounce violence, saying that this will help reach a peaceful solution to the Libyan crisis.
In his speech before the meeting, Arbaoui condemned the murder of 21 Egyptian nationals at the hands of Daesh militants earlier this week.
On his part, the UAE's Permanent Delegate to the Arab League Mohammed bin Nakhira el Dhaheri offered condolences to the Egyptian people and leadership over this terrorist crime.
"Such barbaric crimes will not determine the Arab peoples' will to face Daesh threats," he said.
Dhaheri also stressed his country's support for Egypt in the anti-terror war.
Meanwhile, Oman's Permanent Representative to the Arab League Khalifa bin Ali el Harthy stressed the importance of uprooting terrorism in the region.
He also deplored the terrorist crime in Libya, which left 21 Egyptian Copts dead.
Finally, Yemen's Permanent Representative to the Arab League Mohamed el Haisami called for more strenuous efforts to help the Yemeni government to overcome the current challenges.
He also urged the Arab countries to promote the UN-supported National Dialogue, now held in Yemen.
