Permanent observer for the League of Arab States at the United Nations Sameh Abu el Einein received on Saturday UN Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian Partnerships with the Middle East and Central Asia Rashid Khalikov and discussed cooperation between the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) and the Arab League (AL).

Khalikov expressed his desire for close cooperation with AL in the light of the mandate of his new post.

The UN official said he intended to pay a visit to Cairo and hold meetings with AL officials as part of a Middle East tour.
