Grand Imam of Al Azhar Ahmed el Tayyeb underlined the importance of protecting the Islamic culture.

During a meeting Wednesday with Director of the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) Abdullah Muhareb, Tayyeb hailed the organization's cultural and scientific efforts.

Muhareb said the organization is looking forward to cooperating and exchanging expertise with Azhar to rectify mistaken concepts about Arab and Islamic culture.
