Head of the Arab League mission for the Sudanese elections Alaa el Zoheiry asserted the importance of the elections as a constitutional right in the democratic process in the Arab states.

The developments that took place within the past five years affected the democracy in general and the electoral rights in particular, Zoheiry told MENA.

The AL established secretariat for the election affairs that is professionally responsible for graduating experts in this field, he said.

AL missions were distributed in the Sudanese states to follow up the polling operation for four days, Zoheiry said.
