The Arab League and the EU called on warring parties in Libya to sign a peace accord drafted after months of talks.

The joint call came following a meeting between Arab League chief Nabil Arabi and EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly meeting in New York, said a statement released by the pan-Arab body in Cairo.
