Arab League on Sunday asserted that Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories and terrorism are considered obstacles to the required development in the region.
This came during Arab League Secretary-General Nabil al Arabi's speech at the third session of the Arab Forum on Sustainable Development (AFSD) launched on Sunday in Amman.
Arab League Assistant Secretary General for Media Affairs Haifa Abu Ghazaleh gave the speech on behalf of Arabi.
Arabi pointed out that the AL has set a certain vision concerning the achievement of the sustainable development plan in order to boost the capability of facing the crises via enhancing and building partnerships in crises management field.
He underlined that the AL is keen on supporting the Arab efforts in order to implement the 2030 sustainable development plan especially that the AL is considered the regional organization authorized to coordinate with all governmental and non-governmental organizations and agencies affiliated to the United Nations.
Arabi also reviewed the challenges facing the Arab region including the continuous disputes in a number of countries as well as plans and strategies already launched by the AL to implement sustainable development in Arab countries.
