Arab League to hold urgent meeting on Iraq on Sunday

Arab League announced on Thursday it will hold an urgent meeting next Sunday on permanent envoys level to discuss implementation of Kuwait summit's resolutions on supporting Lebanese army, upon a Lebanese request, and development of the tense situation in Iraq.
A decision has been made on listing an item, on development of the dangerous situation in Iraq, at the meeting's agenda, Arab League Secretary General Dr. Nabil Al-Araby said in a press statement, expressing his strong condemnation to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant's (ISIL) criminal activities in Iraq.
He called on all Iraqi political parties and blocs to consolidate their efforts in order to face all forms of terrorism and preserve Iraq's unity, security, and stability.
Al-Araby assured League's support to all efforts exerted by the Iraqi government to combat terrorism and enforce the authority of Iraqi state, calling at the same time for attainment of Iraqi national consensus during this current dangerous stage that threatens Iraq's security
