Syrian crisis

At the conclusion of the 144th round of the Arab League council at the ministerial level under the UAE, the council said the UNSC must shoulder its full responsibility to handle the Syrian crisis.

In a decision Sunday on the latest developments in Syria, the council expressed concern over the repercussions of the Syrian issue and its impact on the country's future.

The council welcomed the steps taken by the EU member states to host a number of Syrian refugees.

It also welcomed the initiatives and efforts exerted to unify the vision of the Syrian opposition on the steps of solving the Syrian crisis.

The council voiced its strong condemnation to the terrorist crimes committed by Daesh and other terrorist organizations against the Syrian people and the destruction of the archaeological and historical sites in Syria.

The council also lauded the hosting of the 3rd international Donors' Conference for the humanitarian crisis in Syria by Kuwait in March 2015, calling on the donors states to fulfill their grant to Syria.

The council called on the Arab League to continue efforts with the countries hosting the Syrian refugees and displaced to provide support to these countries.
