Arab League Secretary General Nabil al-Araby has welcomed a decision by Iraqi President Mohamed Fouad Massoum, assigning Dr Haidar al-Abadi to form the new Iraqi government.
Araby, in a statement Tuesday, hoped Abadi would succeed in forming a comprehensive national government that would represent all Iraqi sects.
He wished Iraq security and its people progress and prosperity.
