The Arab League welcomed the five-day humanitarian ceasefire in Yemen proposed by Saudi Arabia and to start on Tuesday.

The Arab League urges all sides to commit to the ceasefire to ease the humanitarian suffering in Yemen, Deputy Secretary General Ahmad bin Helli said.

Yemen's Houthi rebels agreed Sunday to the truce proposed by Saudi Arabia to allow humanitarian aid into the country.
