An emergency meeting of the Arab League Council kicked off Thursday at the permanent delegates' level to probe the terror attacks against the Egyptian army in North Sinai.

The meeting, chaired by Jordan and held upon Egypt's request, will also discuss the outcome of a joint meeting of the Arab ministerial committee concerned with applying an action plan to end the Israeli occupation of Palestinian lands with French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius.

The participants observed a one-minute silence over the victims of the terror attacks in North Sinai Wednesday.
