The Arab Human Rights Committee warned on Monday of growing terrorism and extremism in the Arab region, the latest of which was the terrorist attack on a Qatif mosque.

The attack poses a serious threat to the security and stability of regional countries, head of the committee Hadi el Yami warned in a statement on the occasion of the 11th anniversary of the endorsement of the Arab Charter of Human Rights.

The committee condemned all forms of terrorism, expressing full solidarity with victims of terrorism without any discrimination.

He urged Arab countries to be more alert and to firmly face this common enemy that threatens humanity.

Since being approved in Tunis in 2004 and taking into effect in 2008, the charter has been working on protecting human rights and ending violations in this regard.

So far, 14 Arab countries have signed the Charter.
