Upholding the interests of Egypt and all the Arab countries was the main reason behind Cairo-Doha reconciliation, said the liberal Free Egyptian Party on Sunday.
In a statement, the party's Assistant Secretary General Ayman Abu-Ela said that Egypt always proved that it never abandoned the Arab world.
Qatar had to change its policies towards Egypt, asserting that Doha-based Aljazeera TV channel should change its hostile and abusive stances against the leading Arab state.
He also called on Qatar to stop funding the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood (MB) group and to seek real reconciliation with the Egyptian government and people.
