Arab League Secretary General Nabil el Araby stressed the need for concerted efforts to protect and restore the Arab national security, warning against dangers besetting the region under growing terrorism and extremism.
Addressing the 143rd meeting of the Arab League Council held at the permanent delegates' level on Saturday and chaired by Jordan, Araby said measures should be taken to restore the Arab national security.
He pointed out to a resolution issued by the Arab foreign ministers in September in this regard.
Jordan's permanent delegate Beshr al Khasawna warned against the terror threats and terrorism rising in a number of Arab countries.
He said he hopes a mechanism under the Arab League is developed to fight terrorism and promote national security and to activate the joint Arab defense agreement.
