Cairo - Arab Today
Executive Committee Secretary of the Palestine Liberation Organization Saeb Erekat posted Arab League Secretary General Nabil el Araby on the latest developments in the Palestinian territories in light of Israeli escalations.
During a meeting at the Arab League headquarters here, the pair reviewed efforts exerted at the international level to provide international protection to the Palestinian people and Egypt’s role as a non-permanent member at the United Nations Security Council.
They also touched on a visit to be made by Araby to New York and Washington to meet senior officials at the UN and the US government to work on carrying pledges on ending the Palestinian-Israeli conflict under a set timeframe.
The Palestinian people have the right to exercise peaceful and popular resistance to end the occupation and establish an independent state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, Erekat said.
