Security forces in Arish, North Sinai, have been put on high alert for the second day in a row after an armoured vehicle was targeted on Thursday killing two officers and injuring three others.

Aircraft conducted reconnaissance over the city and nearby areas to monitor any suspicious movement, security sources said.

Internet and landline telecommunication services were out of order in the whole governorate for more than 10 hours.
