The forces of the National People's Army (ANP) destroyed two bunkers of terrorists and recovered weapons and a quantity of ammunition, following an operation conducted Thursday near the town of Tamalous (Skikda), the ministry of National Defence announced Friday in a statement.
"As part of counterterrorism, a detachment of the joint forces of the National People's Army, under the operational area of Skikda (5th military region), destroyed two (02) bunkers and recovered one (01) shotgun, one (01)sawed-off shotgun and a quantity of ammunition, food and other objects, after a combing operation conducted Thursday, 13 November 2014 near the town of Tamalous," the same source added.
"As part of ensuring of border security and the fight against smuggling, units of the National Gendarmerie, under the operational area of Amenas (4th military region), apprehended on the same day at 6:00 p.m., near the border area of Debdeb, two (02) Algerian smugglers aboard a smuggling vehicle from the Libyan territory with a fake vehicle identification number (VIN)."
"Also, units of the National Gendarmerie, under the operational area of In Salah (6th military region), seized on 11 November at 9:45 p.m., a quantity of 62,990 psychotropic tablets," the stated added.
