Damascus - MENA
The Army of Conquest, which consists mainly of seven Syrian armed opposition groups, unveiled on Tuesday a new battle to control the remaining parts of Idlib.
The coalition, made up of 10,000 fighters, managed to control large swaths of Idlib earlier after clashes with forces loyal to Syrian President Bashar al Assad, according to Al Arabiya news channel.
The Army of Conquest is a military coalition consisting of numerous Syrian Islamist rebel factions mainly active in the Idlib governorate, with some factions active in the Hama and Latakia governorates. It was formed on 24 March 2015 with an aim of toppling the regime of Syrian President Bashar al Assad.
