Damascus - Arab Today
Syrian President Bashar al Assad said Sunday talk of a political solution to Syria's civil war could only take place after eradicating terrorism.
During a meeting with Iranian senior officials in Damascus, Assad added that eliminating terrorism is the real prelude to the success of any political solution decided by the Syrian people.
Assad highlighted important gains by the Syrian army in the fight against terrorism, with the support of its friends led by Iran and Russia.
He said that "Syria's enemies abroad" had increased support, financing and arming of terrorists after these important gains.
