Yemen security forces and the public resistance forces in Aden arrested an assassination cell during a raid on a house in Al Buraiqeh district.

The cell was led by some people from northern Yemen, local media reported.

Massive amounts of explosives, cell phones, and chips used in detonations along with masks and ready car bombs, large sums of dollars, and lists for people who were assassinated and other plotted to be murdered were seized, a source from the public resistance said.

Security forces are pursuing some suspects, who fled from the house after clashes with troops, he added.

In the meantime, unknown militants assassinated a colonel in Aden on Friday evening.

The attackers shot Colonel Mohsen Haron dead and fled the scene, eyewitnesses said.

It came amid the increasing assassination attacks recently, and resulted in killing five of security forces and army personnel.
