Egypt's Assistant Interior Minister for the public security sector Sayed Gad el Haq on Saturday received an Italian security delegation, which is currently visiting Egypt to follow up investigations into the ambiguous death of Italian young man Giulio Regeni in Cairo.

A statement by the Interior Ministry said that the Italian team was briefed on measures to unveil the circumstances of the death of the Italian national.

Regeni, 28, disappeared on January 25, after leaving his home in Giza to meet a friend. His body was found on a road on Cairo's western outskirts on Wednesday.
