Assiut Governor Yasser Desouki

Assiut Governor Yasser Desouki honored on Wednesday the families of the victims of the latest terrorist attacks in Sinai.

He gave each family 20,000 pounds and the governorate's shield in recognition of their sons' efforts in serving their homeland.

Three victims of Sinai terrorist attacks were from Assiut governorate, including an officer and two soldiers.

Some 17 Egyptian army personnel were killed when terrorists carried out simultaneous attacks Wednesday on five Egyptian military checkpoints.

The army spokesman said nearly 240 terrorists had been killed in the operations carried out by the Egyptian army following the bloody attacks that took place on the 1st of July.
