Eight people were injured when the elevator of the Egyptian-Russian Friendship Monument in Aswan governorate fell down, Health officials said.
They suffered non-life-threatening injuries, health officials said. They were taken to Aswan University Hospital, all in stable condition.
The elevator of the monument fell down due to a wire cut.
The Egypt-Russia monument was built to mark the completion of the construction of the Aswan High Dam in the 1960s.
