Security measures have been tightened in Aswan governorate for Eastern Christmas celebrations, said Security Chief Mohamed Mostafa Abdel Aal.
More security personnel have been deployed across the governorate to deter any acts of violence against Christian targets, he added.
Flying and fixed checkpoints were set up in coordination with the Armed Forces near the churches within the governorate, he said.
