An attempt to smuggle 64 artifacts to Saudi Arabia was thwarted Friday at Borg El Arab International Airport, Alexandria.

The artifacts were hidden in a luggage belonging to an Egyptian passenger, an official source said.

He was referred to the prosecution while the artifacts were seized by police.
