Authorities at Borg el Arab international airport foiled an attempt to smuggle an amount of Egyptian currency.

A passenger heading for Doha was trying to smuggle EGP 50,000, an official source at the customs department at the airport said in statements Saturday, adding the attempt violates the law of the Central Bank of Egypt.
