Borg el Arab International Airport's authorities foiled an attempt for smuggling large amounts of Egyptian and foreign currency in violation of the Central Bank of Egypt and the Banking Body laws.

A reliable customs authority source said Monday the smuggled SR 110,000 and EGP 5,800 were found in the luggage of an Egyptian passenger before his travel to Doha.

All necessary measures will be taken against the defendant.
