An Egyptian passenger was nabbed Friday at Cairo International Airport while trying to smuggle a huge amount of foreign currency to Qatar.

Cairo Airport security bodies found 149,000 Qatari dinars and 8,600 US dollars hidden in the Egyptian passenger's luggage.

Legal action was taken against the passenger.

According to Egypt's foreign exchange law, each passenger is allowed to have only 10,000 US dollars or an equivalent sum of other currencies when travelling.
