Customs authorities at Dekheila port foiled an attempt on Saturday to smuggle a large shipment of prohibited insecticides without prior permission.

The shipment was laden in a container on board of a ship coming from Ninjago port, China.

It contained more than 14.5 tons of products, an official source said.

An investigation was opened in the case.
