Cairo International Airport security authorities foiled on Friday an attempt to smuggle what they said "the largest amount" of foreign currencies from Egypt.

An Egyptian citizen, 28, was arrested while trying to smuggle SAR 4 millions and USD 400,000 from Egypt to Jordan.

The defendant was hiding the amounts of money in big candy boxes.

A probe was launched into the incident.
