Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa called on Saturday for taking all the needed measures to fight all forms of scientific thefts, especially in the fields of academic research.

Gomaa, in a released statement, demanded imposing an appropriate punishment to anyone who would steal others' intellectual or scientific effort, and classifying such acts as a crime, which prevent its perpetrator from assuming any leading posts.

The minister urged all the respective intellectual and scientific bodies to outline systems that make an end to scientific thefts, empowering unqualified people, or receiving what they didn't deserve.
