Awqaf Minister Mokhtar Gomaa strongly condemned the blasts that took place in Brussels killing and injuring a number of innocent people.

Terrorism has nothing to do with religion, the minister asserted in a statement on Tuesday. 

Islam rejects all forms of extremism and violence, Gomaa said, adding Egypt leads the anti-terrorism fight.

He urged the international community to show serious stances against terrorism. 

He offered condolences to the families of the victims of the attacks that took place in a subway and an airport in Belgium.
