Grand Imam of Azhar Ahmed El-Tayeb slammed terrorist groups and sectarian militias that are using Islam as a pretext to achieve their goals.
"These groups have nothing to do with Islam and the noble Islamic teachings," El-Tayeb said during a meeting with Gilles de Kerchove, the EU Counter-terrorism Coordinator.
The grand imam called on the Western media not to link terror to Islam.
