Al Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed el Tayyeb dispatched preacher convoys and committees to remote border areas to clarify the right principles of moderate Islam to residents there.

Heading to Abu Ramad, Halayeb, Shalateen, Abu Simbel, and Marsa Alam areas, the convoys aim at countering extremist thoughts, secretary-general of the Islamic Research Academy (IRA) Mohy el Din Afifi said Thursday.

The preachers will answer the residents' inquiries, Afifi added.
