Al Azhar mourned the death of Mexican tourists and Egyptians in Wahat area in the Western Desert.

The Interior Ministry said late Sunday that joint police and army forces mistakenly dealt with four four-by-four vehicles carrying a group of Mexican tourists resulting in the death of 12 persons and the injury of 10 others.

In a statement, Azhar expressed its sincere sorrow over the victims of the incident.
