Al Azhar stands fully ready to work with all sides to serve humanity and deepen the dialogue culture. said Al Azhar Grand Imam Dr Ahmed el Tayyeb.

This came during Tayyeb's meeting Sunday with president of China Christian Council Fu Si Wei along with Bishop of the Episcopal Church in Egypt and North Africa Mounir Hana.

Tayyeb underlined the close ties binding Egypt and China, adding that the world pins hope on scholars and clergymen to spread security among all nations and countries.

The Chinese cleric, for his part, hailed the spirit of love and harmony that combines the Egyptian people.

He also said that China is a multi-religious state and all Chinese people live in peace and security.
