Al Azhar on Saturday strongly slammed extremist Zionist calls to storm Al Aqsa Mosque and hold events inside it.

In a statement late Saturday, Al Azhar rejected the calls and warned of their serious consequences that may fuel anger of Muslims inside and outside Al Quds city.

Al Azhar called on the international community to take immediate action against such barbaric attacks by Israel against the Al Aqsa Mosque.

The world's top Sunni institution categorically rejects such calls.
