Bahrain’s interior ministry said that it had arrested 28 people convicted in absentia on terrorism charges, Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported on Tuesday.

Some of them have been sentenced to life in prison.

“Some of those arrested have had their nationality revoked,” the ministry said in a statement.

The BNA said the operation was a coordinated effort by various investigation units in the country.
