Interior Minister Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa received here today his Jordanian counterpart Hussein Huzza' Al-Majali, in the presence of the Minister of State for Interior Affairs Major-General Adel bin Khalifa Al Fadhel and Chief of Public Security Major-General Tariq Al Hassan.
The Interior Minister welcomed the visit of his Jordanian counterpart, which is part of existing security cooperation and coordination between the two brotherly countries amid the on-going regional developments that require joint efforts to tackle them.
He asserted the depth and strength of the special brotherly ties between Bahrain and Jordan, reinforced by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al-Hussein, noting that the advanced level of bilateral cooperation is a result of the support of the two leaderships for joint work.
They discussed security cooperation and coordination in a number of sectors, in addition to security issues of common interests.
During the same meeting, the Public Security Chief gave a brief presentation on the security situation in Bahrain and plans and training that aim to enhance competency and readiness in facing all security threats and challenges within the work to reinforce regional security and protection of the region.
He also highlighted the Interior Ministry’s development and modernisation strategy through intensive training, utilisation of modern equipment and technology and openness to advanced experiences in the world to meet the Ministry’s goal of developing all its departments and achieve excellence in performance.
The Jordanian Interior Minister expressed sincere thanks and appreciation to the Interior Minister for the warm welcome accorded to him and hailed the various security successes of Bahrain within its efforts to reinforce its security and stability.
He said that the activation of bilateral cooperation in all sectors will reflect positively on the interests of the two countries and their brotherly peoples and optimise joint achievements.
