Dr Salah bin Ali

Human Rights Minister Dr. Salah bin Ali Abdulrahman met the Head of the parliamentary Human Rights Committee Ahmed Abdulrahman Al Sa’ati.
He praised the parliament’s key role in conveying the real image abroad and upgrading the legislative system with laws promoting human rights and reflecting the national commitment to protecting them.
He said the next phase requires more concerted efforts to boost human rights and address related issues.
He stressed that reforms and democratic progress in Bahrain were going forward unabated to ensure the best human rights practices and emphasised that Bahrain is a country that respects and supports human rights, pointing out the kingdom’s keenness to protect freedoms in line with its international obligations in this respect.
The Minister underscored the efforts made to boost national reconciliation, continue the National Dialogue, promote the culture of tolerance and co-existence and ensure the sovereignty of the law.
He also asserted Bahrain’s keenness on fostering natial unity and renouncing all forms of violence and extremism for the sake of a stable present and promising future.
The Minister affirmed Bahrain’s all-inclusive nature throughout its history and its success to ensure harmony between all religious components and stressed the Human Rights Ministry’s readiness to cooperate with any party willing to contribute to fostering the culture of human rights and respect of national fundamentals.
He pointed out the need to maintain Bahrain’s pluralistic social fabric, underscoring the importance of national unity.
The meeting discussed cooperation between the Human Rights Ministry and the parliament.
